So why a blog about a puppy? Woofgang will be my first baby puppy. My previous dogs have all been adopted from shelters. Woofgang may possibly be the only puppy I will ever have so I want to document all the good and even the rough spots of his puppyhood.
Currently in our home are two senior dogs who have been with us 10 years, Ally and Mr. Billy (picture below). Sadly, our Sam is no longer with us since 2009, and I missed having three dogs. We’ve looked at the shelter recently, but didn’t find anybody who seemed a good fit.
Then I saw the announcement of puppies having been born on Facebook. A friend whom I had gone to school with had taken in a stray Weimaraner. The stray became a mommy. Surprise!
I had a few requirements for any dog I could adopt. He had to be a boy. He had to be at least a medium to large size dog. The mommy looking to be a Weimaraner fit the probable size. When I heard the pups were boys I had to jump at the chance.
And that is how our family grew by a puppy!
