Puppy Class Graduate

20 Oct

Wednesday and Thursday

30 Sep

A bit of a crazy week for Woofgang. Wednesday he went to Central Bark doggie day care. He played with his new friend Hinakega. They had played together last week. Hinakega is about 9 months old.

Shortly after that Woofgang twisted his leg by running/jumping full force into one of the caregivers. It wasn’t anything major, but he came home to rest. He was back to normal later that afternoon.

Thursday night he had his third week of puppy class. He was overtired and a bit squirmy, but did pretty good. We worked on “down”, “drop it”, “leave it”, and “take it”. He’s pretty smart so he catches on pretty quickly. BUT, he’s also very determined and stubborn so he can be difficult too. Lots of practice to do!

Today (Friday) he is back at Central Bark so he can work off some of his pent up energy. It’s been cold, rainy, and windy here so he hasn’t been outside as much to run it off.

Puppy Class 1

16 Sep

Last night was Woofgang’s first night at puppy training class. There were two other “students”, a bulldog and some kind of tiny terrier. Woofgang was the quiet one. He was also a bit shy with the other puppies.

The most important things we learned were some calming techniques. Best of all, they work!  It’s one thing to read about what to do, but seeing it in action was so much more helpful.

Very much looking forward to next week.
